We’re pleased to present our 2020 Race Calendar.
There’s a lot going on in 2020, with racing indoors & out; on-road & off; winter, spring & summer; dus, tris & relays; plenty of distances and World’s spots too!
AG Team Canada Qualifiers: For the second year in a row, Manitoba will have qualifying spots for all three Age Group World Championship Teams.
The Peace Garden Triathlon will host the Sprint qualifier and Riding Mountain Triathlon will host the Olympic distance qualifier, and both races will qualify for the 2021 ITU Grand Final in Bermuda. The Morden Triathlon will again have the Aquabike, Duathlon & Off-road spots for the Multisport World Champs, with Hecla Triathlon hosting the Long Course qualifier. All Multisport races (including long course) will qualify for the 2021 Multisport World Champs in Townsville, Australia.
Here’s what you need to know for each event on our 2020 Calendar:
Women’s Duathlon Series: A great introductory event designed to be a welcoming and fun first step into our sport.
Beat the Cold: Run, Bike, Skate for a great cause. Last year’s event sold out quick, so this year sees added capacity, but the same great goal to raise funds to help Winnipeg’s homeless via 1JustCity charity.
April Run Series: I’m not sure there’s a better tune-up available for the season ahead. Choose 5k/5k/5k if you want to work on speed or 5k/10k/15k if you want to work on endurance.
May Duathlon Series: The tune-up continues as we welcome summer weather, reconnect with friends and get the bands back together before our ‘summer tours’ start.
Grand Valley Duathlon: A great event to get the west involved and welcome spring, with a great venue just outside Brandon, MB.
Triple Threat Triathlon & Kids of Steel: The introduction to Triathlon Season is also a great intro to Triathlon racing, with plenty of opportunity to recon the course throughout May’s Dus.
St.Malo Triathlon & Kids of Steel: One of our most popular races with a storied history and excellent support for both newbies and veterans.
Peace Garden Triathlon: A simply amazing venue with a great atmosphere and one of the most challenging-yet-fun courses our sport can offer.
Morden Triathlon & Kids of Steel: Offering every type of race, featuring either perfect, new pavement or world-class trails, it’s great to have Morden back on the Calendar.
Hecla Triathlon: Manitoba’s only Long-Course race, with events for everyone and race support that’s only matched by the outstanding surroundings – the swim & run courses especially.
Manitoba Summer Games: 2020 brings the return of the Manitoba Summer Games powered by Manitoba Hydro, for triathletes 10-15 years of age – click the link for more details.
Riding Mountain Triathlon: Manitoba’s biggest race of the year always puts on a great show and is the best way we can think of wrapping up the season.
