Elite Racing Season is Underway

This past weekend, our MTC Team began their triathlon racing season at the Pleasant Prairie USAT Cup Triathlon in Wisconsin.

Many of this year’s team had their first elite racing experience at this event last year and returned with the hope of improving.  One year later, after a winter of dedicated training, athlete’s returned stronger and smarter to grab some impressive results.  Most athletes saw 3-5 minute improvements, moving up 10-20 spots in their categories.

A special nod goes out to Blake Harris, who jumped from 17th spot in last year’s event to climb onto his first elite podium, earning the silver medal after a solid all-round performance.

Next up for many of these athletes is the Triple Threat Triathlon locally, before they head off to Saskatoon on June 22/23 for their next elite competition.
