SUMMARY:2024 Kids Summer Program
DESCRIPTION:Train like a Triathlete Year-Round!\n\nOur Kids Summer Program runs June to August\, providing young athletes with the opportunity to participate in sport specific workouts led by great coaches. \nSummer sessions will take place Monday & Wednesday at Birds Hill Park from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. The program will consist of open water swim\, bike\, run\, and training through transitions. This program is designed to develop fitness and strength for all three sports. \nThe program is targeted at youth 8 – 12 years of age. \nTriathlon Manitoba is fortunate to have two excellent coaches leading the program\, keen to help the next generation of athletes fall in love with triathlon by sharing their knowledge and enthusiasm for the sport. \nAnnika Niblock is a graduate of the TriMB Youth & MTC Programs\, competed in triathlon at the 2019 Western Canada Summer Games and is currently pursuing a degree in Environmental Studies at U of M. Darian Hole is a former MTC athlete\, having competed as part of Team Manitoba at the 2013 Canada Summer Games\, he brings a wealth of experience from his years in the sport. \nREGISTER \nDates:  Every Monday and Wednesday evening in June\, July\, and August. \nLocation:  Birds Hill Park (East Beach) \nTime:  6:30 PM  – 8:30 PM \nCost:  $160 for the summer \nMembership:  Annual membership for kids is $10 (must have a Triathlon Manitoba membership to do the program) \nEquipment:  Swimsuit\, running shoes\, exercise wear\, bicycle and helmet. (Note: Any type of bicycle is fine for this program) \n

SUMMARY:Hecla Triathlon
DESCRIPTION:2024 Hecla Triathlon \n​The Hecla Triathlon will take place in Hecla\, Manitoba\, July 20th\, 2024.  This race started in 2015 and has continued to grow and evolve each year since\, and is home to Manitoba’s only Long Course race. \n​The event is a popular destination race and may also have you feeling like your are somewhere outside of Manitoba.  This year’s Long Course Triathlon; Standard Duathlon; Standard & Long Course Aquabike will all be World Qualifer events\, where the top age group female and male athletes can make their way onto the Canadian Age Group World Championship Team\, for the 2025 Multisport World Championships held in Pontevedra\, Spain. (the Standard Aquabike distance is raced as part of the 2025 World Triathlon Championship Final in Wollongong\, Austrailia) \nThe Hecla Triathlon will not disappoint\, with tremendous athlete support to ensure the day goes smoothly! \n​About the Hecla Triathlon \n\nThe swim course is protected by the marina\, guarding from what can be an unpredictable Lake Winnipeg\, with only a short run to transition T1.\nThe bike course is flat and fast\, lock and load\, and keep your eyes open for wildlife!\nMoving onto the run\, you will experience both road and trail\, skirting the marina and hugging the lake.\nThis course will provide you both a physically and mentally challenging race\, packed with stunning views\, showcasing the beauty of the island.\n\n\n\n\nREGISTER\n\nTo be eligible for World Championship Qualification in this event\, you must complete an Expression of Interest PRIOR to the event on July 20th.  That expression must be submitted within the three weeks prior to the event\n\n\nSUBMIT EOI\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n
