SUMMARY:Swim Stroke Development Program
DESCRIPTION:Swimming Harder Can Make You Slower.\nSwimming Better Makes You Faster!\n  \nBuilding on the success of last winter’s Intro to Triathlon Swimming Program\, Triathlon Manitoba will offer these new sessions designed for triathletes keen to improve their efficiency and performance at the start of every triathlon event. \nCoached sessions will take place once-a-week on Monday evenings\, from 8-9pm at the Pan Am Pool (in parallel with our regular Swim Program).  Athletes will be given a second workout to do on their own each week\, to reinforce the coached lessons and achieve the desired progression throughout the program. \nAthletes will receive on-deck training from experienced coaches Christine McKinley and Patrick Peacock.  Sessions will run for 9 weeks from October 21st to December 16th (Nov 11 will not have a coached swim due to the holiday).  The program will also include video capture sessions\, allowing athletes to have direct feedback on stroke mechanics and improvements made throughout the program. \nTarget Audience:\n– Athletes with prior experience of triathlon swimming / racing\, likely those who learned to swim as adults and looking to gain efficiency in their swimming\n(our Intro to Triathlon Swimming will run again in Jan-Mar 2025 for newbies) \nPre-Requisites:\n– Athletes should already be capable of swimming 750m in open water\n– Athletes should have fins available at all training sessions\n(if you don’t already have a pair\, our coaches recommend this shorter style)\n  \nREGISTER \nRegistration space is limited. \n \n

DESCRIPTION:The AGM is scheduled for Tuesday October 22nd\, from 5:30 pm\n\nAt the end of each season\, Triathlon Manitoba’s Annual General Meeting provides an opportunity to reflect on our successes as well as our struggles and direction as a sport.  The AGM gives every one of our members a chance to participate in these discussions and help us ensure our sport progresses in the best way possible – the way that reflects the desires and ambitions of our membership. \nPlease join us to lend your voice to these discussions and help us make a stronger and better sport. \nThe following documents will be available on this page prior to the AGM\n2024 AGM Agenda\n2023 AGM Minutes (Draft)\n2023-24 Financial Statements \nThe Triathlon Manitoba Board of Directors will have a number of positions to fill this year.  If you would like to help ensure the success of our sport\, there’s no better place to make a contribution.  The deadline for nominations to the board is Tuesday\, October 8th\, with the following positions to fill: \nVice-President\nTreasurer\nDirector at Large \n2024 Board of Directors Nomination Form \nProxy Forms are available to those members unable to join the call\, but would still like to vote.  Completed forms must be submitted via e-mail or mail by Tuesday\, October 8th at end of day.  As per 4.9 Proxy Restrictions – No individual can hold more than one proxy vote for one specific meeting of members. \nAnnual Awards Dinner will be held immediately following the AGM – expected to start at 7:00 pm on Tuesday\, October 22nd. The dinner offers a great chance to recognize the outstanding achievements and contributions made throughout 2024 in our sport.  Our sport is filled with so many incredible people – please take the time to nominate someone you feel is deserving of celebration \n

DESCRIPTION:The Awards Dinner is scheduled for Tuesday\, October 22nd from 7:00 pm\nOur Awards Dinner will take place immediately after the Annual General Meeting.  A discount is offered to those who attend the AGM\, so please join us from 5:30 pm\, to add your voice to our sport and save a bit on dinner too. \nThe awards evening will include a sit down dinner with food from Urban Prairie Cuisine\, as well as recognition of our athletes\, officials\, volunteers\, and coaches\, plus a look back at the season passed. \n  \nAGM: Tuesday October 22\, 2024 from 5:30 – 6:30 pm at the Winnipeg Winter Club\, 200 River Ave\, Winnipeg\, MB R3L 0B2  (there is no charge to attend the AGM) \nAwards Dinner: Tuesday October 22\, 2024 from 7:00 – 9:00 pm at the Winnipeg Winter Club\, 200 River Ave\, Winnipeg\, MB R3L 0B2 \n \nAs detailed below\, there are a few pricing options for the Awards Dinner\, with discounts offered to members who also attend the AGM before hand\, as well as to the key volunteers who keep our sport going.  Please select the appropriate category for your ticket. \nAWARDS ONLY – a $30 cost is charged to those attending the awards dinner who will not attend the AGM. \nAGM ATTENDEE – a $5 discount is offered for TriMB members who will be attending the AGM prior to the awards dinner. \nOFFICIAL / RD – a $10 discount is offered for TriMB members who will not attend the AGM\, but who have served as Race Directors this year or were active as Officials at 3+ events. \nOFFICIAL / RD & AGM ATTENDEE– a $15 discount is offered for TriMB members who will attend the AGM and have\, served as Race Directors this year or were active as Officials at 3+ events. \n  \nNOTE – Registration deadline is Sunday\, October 20th at midnight\, as the kitchen needs to know the number of meals to prepare. \n  \nREGISTER \n  \nFinally\, to ensure we’re awarding those most deserving of recognition\, please take the time to nominate an Athlete\, Coach\, Volunteer or Official you feel is deserving of celebration! \n  \n
