SUMMARY:2025 Kids of Steel Fall & Winter Program
DESCRIPTION:Train like a Triathlete Year-Round!\n\n  \nOur Kids Fall & Winter Program runs November to April\, providing young athletes with the opportunity to participate in sport specific workouts led by great coaches. \nThe program is targeted at youth 8 – 15 years of age (Birth years 2010 – 2018) to develop fitness and strength for all three sports. \nSaturday sessions are intended for all athletes\, taking place at Pan Am Pool from 9:00 to 11:00 am.  Starting with a run fitness workout before moving to the pool for swim training. \n  \nRegistration for Saturday-only sessions is $160 for six months.   \n  \nAnnika Niblock and Darian Hole will continue as our program coaches. \nDarian is a former MTC athlete\, having competed as part of Team Manitoba at the 2013 Canada Summer Games\, and he brings a wealth of experience from his years in the sport.  Annika is a graduate of the TriMB Youth & MTC Programs\, competed in triathlon at the 2019 Western Canada Summer Games and is currently pursuing a degree in Environmental Studies at U of M. \nOur coaches are keen to help a next generation of athletes fall in love with triathlon by sharing their knowledge and enthusiasm for our sport. \nNOTE – While this program will help athletes develop better swim technique\, it’s not intended to be a learn-to-swim program.  All athletes should be able to comfortably complete 100m of steady swimming (enough to access the deep end in most local pools) before beginning the program. \n  \nREGISTER \n  \nA 2025 Triathlon Season membership must be purchased with each Kids Program Registration\, which provides insurance for all workout participants\, as well as a racing licence for the season ahead.  The Kids of Steel memberships are $10\, plus CCN processing fees. \nThe video below gives a great idea of what to expect at our Kids Programs. \n \n  \n

SUMMARY:Intro to Triathlon Swimming
DESCRIPTION:SOLD OUT FOR 2025\n  \nBack for another year\, our Intro to Triathlon Swim program is designed to get athlete’s on the start line for their first Triathlon event. \nThis 10-week program is designed to build form\, fitness and confidence – taking athletes from bobbing to propelling.  At the end of the 10 weeks\, each athlete should be ready to graduate their training to the standard TriMB Swim Program or another Masters swim program. \nProgram workouts will take place Monday and Wednesday evenings\, from 8:00 – 9:00 pm.  Workouts run from Monday\, January 13 to Wednesday\, March 19\, 2025. \nProgram cost is $200 for 10 weeks and spaces are limited to only 15 swimmers – to ensure that each athlete has lots of support from our coaching staff. \nFour coaches will lead the program – Patrick Peacock\, Christine McKinley\, Abby Torrance and Jared Spier – with two coaches present each evening\, to ensure a maximum amount of feedback and support for each swimmer. \nNOTE – Our number one question from athletes about this program is what is the pre-requisite swim level?? \nThis program is not intended as a ‘learn to swim’ program.  All swimmers should be able to swim 100m without stopping before starting the program.  Put another way – you should be able to pass the test to enter the deep end at any public pool.  That doesn’t need to be a beautiful freestyle swim stroke (that’s where the program coaches can help)\, but our coaches are meant to be there helping you improve your form and efficiency\, not to rescue anyone. \nREGISTER \nNote – Admission to the pool is included in the registration. \n \n

SUMMARY:Winnipeg Indoor Triathlon
DESCRIPTION:TriMB is excited to partner with the University of Manitoba for another year of Indoor Triathlon!\n  \nA different type of racing\, designed to challenge new and experienced triathletes\, while making it easier than ever to take the start line. \nHeld on Saturday\, March 15th\, the race format is simple — swim\, bike & run for a set amount of time as indicated below. The farther you go within the time\, the more points you score! Races will be held in waves of a maximum of 12 participants per wave. Wave start times will be communicated after registration closes. \nAdult Long Course – 15min Swim / 20min Bike / 15min Run\nAdult Short Course – 10min Swim / 15min Bike / 10min Run\nYouth/Junior Course – 10min Swim / 15min Bike / 10min Run \nAll racing takes place indoors at the U of M facility\, with swimming in the Joyce Fromson Pool\, before bike (stationary bikes are provided) and run at the Jim Daley Fieldhouse at Max Bell Centre. Your swim laps will be counted\, the bike computer will provide your distance and your running laps will be counted. Transition is simple and stress free. A set amount of time is provided to everyone to transition from the pool to bike (15 minutes)\, and bike to run (5 minutes)\, so everyone in each wave transitions at the same time. No one gets left behind! \nBeing fast or slow only matters to you – everyone swims\, bikes\, and runs for the same amount of time.  You can tear up the course and try to set a PD\, or take it easy at your open pace. \n  \nREGISTER \nNOTE 1 – When registering\, select “Indoor Triathlon” from the first menu\, then scroll down and click search to load the Triathlon registration options \n
