DESCRIPTION:SOLD OUT FOR 2025\nA Beginner Triathlon Program for Women\nJoin us for Fun\, Fitness and Friendship!\nThe Just Tri It program is an encouraging and supportive group that wants to help you lead a fun\, healthy life. You do not need to be an athlete – you just need the courage to ‘Tri’ it!  ALL shapes and abilities are welcome. Bring your positive ‘I’ll Tri It’ attitude and our program leaders will help guide you towards your goals. \nMeet new friends or convince your co-worker\, friend\, sister\, or mom to join you.  Spots are limited to ensure everyone has lots of support from our coaches – so register early! \nThis 11-week program runs from April until June and includes: \n\n3 sessions per week\, one of each swimming\, biking\, and running.\nSpeaker sessions will typically be grouped with our runs\, but bike and swim specific talks may be scheduled with those workouts instead.\nSpeaker talks will be recorded and available to those who miss a session\, to keep you motivated and educated along the way\nKick-off event happens\nStart-up swag bag (swim caps\, coupons and a bunch of information)\nTech t-shirts in time for race day\nSpecial discounts at local stores and select races\n2025 Triathlon Manitoba & Triathlon Canada Annual Memberships\nProgram value is over $600\n\nRequirements: \n\nWomen ages 18+\nAbility to walk for 30 minutes\, without stopping (we are NOT talking power-walk here)\nAbility to swim 50m (using any stroke\, including doggy-paddle … similar to what you would have to do to be allowed to swim in the deep-end of a public pool)\n\nREGISTER \nFollow us on Facebook (Just Tri-It Winnipeg). \nIf you have any questions\, please email jtiwinnipeg@gmail.com. \n \n

SUMMARY:Intro to Triathlon Clinic - Part 1 - Bike & Run
DESCRIPTION:The “Intro to Triathlon” Series returns with two sessions to get you ready for summer events!\nThese clinics are designed for adult athletes (see our Kids Summer Program for youth programming)\, whether you’re taking on a new challenge this season or just want some tips on how to improve on past performances and build confidence for the season ahead. \nFor 2025\, we’ve split our clinic into two sessions – one focused on bike & run and a second focused on open water swims.  Each session will be led by a team of experienced coaches\, there to welcome you to our sport and offer their best lessons learned from seasons of racing experience\, all designed to make your races safer\, more efficient and more enjoyable! \n \nPart 1 – Bike & Run – May 22nd \n\nThe first session of our clinic will focus on cycling\, running and transitions\nThe cycling portion will include a few points on control and tips for racing\nWe’ll practice mounts and dismounts for the bike start and finish\nRun training will focus on overall efficiency and tips for settling into your pace after transition\nBoth active practice and some discussion (rules / pacing / nutrition) will be included\nWe’ll happily accommodate any pace for the active parts of this session\n\n  \nPart 1b – Duathlon – May 27th \n\nThere’s no better way to practice your Bike & Run skills than a duathlon\nWe recommend participants in Part 1 of our clinic follow-up with Duathlon in the Park event\nNote – the duathlon event requires a separate registration beyond these clinics\n\n  \nPart 2 – Open Water Swim – May 29th \n\nThe second portion of our clinic will focus on open water swim skills and pointers for swim success.\nContent will include tips for getting wetsuits on / off and keeping comfortable for the swim\nWe’ll cover various types of swim starts\, sighting\, turning at buoys and swimming in a pack\nFinally we’ll look at preparation for transition to bike and the remainder of your triathlon event\nSwimmers should be physically able to complete a 300m swim and we’ll help with the confidence!\n\n  \nREGISTER \n  \nWhat should you bring to Part 1? \n\nBring all the gear you need to bike & run (the same you bring with you to a duathlon event)\nThis should include: bike\, helmet\, shoes for cycle\, shoes for run\, sunglasses\, and water bottle\nWe’ll set up a transition area for all participants\, so each participant will have a spot of their own\nPlease ensure your bike and helmet are both in good shape and ready for an event\n\n  \nWhen / Where? \n\nPlease arrive between 5:30 and 6:00 pm\nOur coached sessions will start at 6:15 pm\, but ‘transition will open’ 45-minutes prior to the start\nJust like our other races\, we’d ask you please check-in no later than 6:00 pm\nThe first 15 minutes of our session will cover transition set-up and race preparation\nOur transition area will be set up in the Eastern Parking Lot (furthest from the beach) of the East Beach area\n\n
