SUMMARY:2026 Kids Program - Summer
DESCRIPTION:Kids Summer Triathlon Program\nOur Kids Summer Program gives young athletes the opportunity to get active\, build skills\, and experience triathlon in a fun and supportive environment led by experienced coaches. \nRunning from June 1 to August 19\, sessions take place every Monday and Wednesday from 6:30 to 8:30 PM at Birds Hill Park (East Beach Area). Athletes will develop fitness and confidence across swimming\, biking\, and running\, while also learning how to move between each segment of a triathlon. \nOur Kids Program is where the love for triathlon begins. Built around games\, skill development\, and welcoming workouts\, giving athletes the space to build confidence across swimming\, cycling\, and running in a fun and low-pressure environment. Each session is designed to leave kids feeling energized\, capable\, and excited to come back. \nMeet your Coaches \nThis program is led by three coaches who bring firsthand competitive experience\, passion\, and a shared commitment to helping young athletes fall in love with triathlon. \nAnnika Niblock is a graduate of the TriMB Youth and MTC Programs who competed at the 2019 Western Canada Summer Games and is currently pursuing a degree in Environmental Studies at the University of Manitoba. \nClaire Healey is a graduate of the MTC Program\, current medical student\, and a multiple Canada Games competitor who also served as the Team Manager for Triathlon Manitoba at the 2022 Canada Summer Games. \nMarita Malo is a graduate of the MTC Program and brings competitive experience and enthusiasm to every session. \n\n\n\nProgram Details\n\n\n\nDates\nEvery Monday & Wednesday\,\nJune 1 – August 19\n\n\nTime\n6:30 PM – 8:30 PM\n\n\nLocation\nBirds Hill Park\, East Beach Area\n\n\nAges\n8 to 15 years\n\n\nProgram 1\n$160 for the full summer\n\n\nMembership\nAnnual Triathlon Manitoba membership required\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEquipment needed: Swimsuit\, running shoes\, exercise wear\, bike\, and helmet. SUMMARY:Hecla Triathlon
DESCRIPTION:\nOrganizers are excited to welcome athletes back to Hecla Island for the full Hecla Triathlon experience in 2026.\n  \n\nSet against the stunning backdrop of Lake Winnipeg and Hecla–Grindstone Provincial Park\, this race combines fast racing with natural beauty and a relaxed destination‑race atmosphere that keeps athletes coming back year after year. \nThis race started in 2015 and has continued to grow and evolve each year since\, and is home to Manitoba’s only Long Course race.  ​The event is a popular destination race and may also have you feeling like you are somewhere outside of Manitoba.  The Hecla Triathlon will not disappoint\, with tremendous athlete support to ensure the day goes smoothly! \n\n\n\nWhy Hecla? \n\n\nThe swim course is protected by the marina\, guarding from what can be an unpredictable Lake Winnipeg\, with only a short run to transition T1. \n\n\nThe bike course is flat and fast\, lock and load\, and keep your eyes open for wildlife!  \n\n\nMoving onto the run\, you will experience both road and trail\, skirting the marina and hugging the lake.  \n\n\nThis course will provide you both a physically and mentally challenging race\, packed with stunning views\, showcasing the beauty of the island. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n  \nREGISTER\n  \nThis year’s Long Course Triathlon will be the Provincial Championship as well as a World Qualifier event\, along with Long Course Aquabike\, where the top age group female and male athletes can make their way onto the Canadian Age Group World Championship Team for the 2027 Multisport World Championships happening in Edmonton\, AB in 2027 \nTo be eligible for World Championship Qualification in any of these events\, you must hold a Triathlon Manitoba Annual Membership and complete an Expression of Interest PRIOR to the event on July 18th. \nA link will be added here to Submit an EOI 3 weeks before Race day\n  \n\n\n\n\n\n
