Please join us in congratulating Megan Van Heyst and Annika Niblock who are the recipients of the 2020 Triathlon Manitoba Scholarship.
This year marks 25 years since the Triathlon Manitoba Scholarship was first established. This scholarship was created in memory of Raivo Tamm to support young Triathletes who wish to continue participating in the sport while pursuing a post-secondary education on a full-time basis.
This scholarship was awarded to two students this year who have excelled in competition, maintained a high level of academic standing while showing a commitment to amateur sport through their involvement in coaching and volunteer activities.
You may recognize Annika and Megan, as they were both on Team Manitoba for Triathlon in the Western Canada Summer Games last summer, making both our province and community proud.
Annika and Megan started triathlon as kids together, and their friendship and commitment to the sport continually grew stronger over the years as they trained together. This fall, Annika and Megan began a new chapter of their lives as they are now both first-year students at the University of Manitoba.
We want to thank Annika and Megan for being such fantastic ambassadors of our sport, and we wish them all the best in their future endeavours!
