Charting the Next Chapter for Triathlon Manitoba

Over the past several years, our triathlon community has achieved a great deal together. Participation has grown, new events and programs have emerged across the province, youth opportunities have expanded, and Manitoba athletes continue to excel on local, national, and international stages.

As part of our ongoing collaboration with Sport Manitoba, we received feedback that Triathlon Manitoba had successfully moved the yardstick on many of the objectives outlined in our previous five-year strategic plan.

That prompted an important question, What’s next?

Ending 2025, the Board partnered with Invision Edge to help identify where we want the sport to be in the years ahead and the actions needed to get there. The result is a new strategic plan built around three long-term priorities.

1. Expand Membership

We want to make triathlon more accessible to more Manitobans in more places. Our focus will be on supporting new communities, expanding introductory programming, and providing tools and resources that make it easier to introduce triathlon across the province.

2. Diversify Revenue

To support the long-term sustainability of our sport, we will focus on building additional revenue streams through sponsorships and partnerships. This will help us continue investing in programs, events, athlete development, and organizational capacity.

3. Grow Youth Involvement

A strong future starts with strong youth participation. We will expand youth programming, support coach development, and strengthen pathways that help young athletes discover, enjoy, and progress in the sport of triathlon.

Big Goals, Practical Steps

These three priorities provide our long-term direction, while annual step goals ensure we take practical, achievable actions each year to make meaningful progress.

How You Can Help

➢ Expanding triathlon into more communities across Manitoba – if you know of a school, recreation organization, municipality, or community group looking to introduce new opportunities or challenges for youth, we’d love an introduction. Success is always easier when there’s local interest, and we’ve developed the tools and resources to help communities get started.
➢ We’re also looking to grow our sponsorship network and have a strong sponsorship program in place.  We are seeking introductions to businesses and organizations interested in supporting the growth of triathlon in Manitoba. A personal interest in the sport, or a warm introduction is all it takes to start a meaningful conversation that can benefit both parties.

If you can help with either of these initiatives, we’d love to hear from you.

Thank you for being part of the Triathlon Manitoba community and for helping make our sport stronger every year. We’re excited about what lies ahead and look forward to expanding on the Strategic Plan at the Triathlon Manitoba Annual General Meeting, Thursday, October 15.

Regards,

Triathlon Manitoba Board of Directors
