2024 sees the return of Manitoba Summer Games hosted in Dauphin, MB from August 11th to 17th.
The Triathlon events will be held at Riding Mountain National Park on August 15th & 16th. Athletes born between 2009 and 2014 will be eligible, with plenty of opportunities to qualify at seven planned events over the next twelve months – including four races and three winter clinics across the province.
Teams will be selected based on the results and participation during the following events, one of which must be a Kids of Steel Race:
– 2023 Peace Garden Duathlon
– 2023 Riding Mountain Triathlon
– MB Games Clinic #1 – Winnipeg – Jan 27
– MB Games Clinic #2 – Winnipeg – Feb 10
– MB Games Clinic #3 – Portage la Prairie – Mar 23
– 2024 Duathlon in the Park #1 – May 14
– 2024 The Pas Triathlon – June 1
– 2024 Birds Hill Triathlon – June 8
– 2024 St Malo Triathlon – June 23
– 2024 Interlake Triathlon – July 6
It is our goal to find a spot for all athletes participating in three qualifying events. Athletes completing two qualification events will be given consideration after all three-event athletes have been placed on their teams.
The other essential members of each team are the coach and manager. Our five regional teams will each need one coach and one manager (one male, one female), to support the kids. If you’re interested in helping us deliver this opportunity for our youngsters, in any capacity, please let us know.
The two documents below are from the 2020 Games (updates will be posted as soon as the 2024 versions are available), but both provide more information for the coach and manager roles:.
