Run Clinic Part 1 – Track Session with Lucy Smith
November 4, 2022 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

“If you want to run better, you need to move better.”
Take your first steps towards better running in 2023 by attending our Run Clinic this November.
You’ve likely heard you can’t win a triathlon in the swim, but you can lose it there – and that’s largely true. But with its position as the final discipline in our racing, the run can always be the most pivotal part of a triathlon. A strong run can save a tough race or cap off a great one. Building an efficient run stride ensures you make the most of your energy late in each race.
To help our members move and run better, Triathlon Manitoba is excited to have Lucy Smith lead these clinics and build towards a successful 2023 season.
If you were part of our sport in the 2000’s, you may recognize Lucy’s name – Lucy competed as a professional and high performance athlete at the international level in distance running, duathlon and triathlon for over 30 years, and competed for Canada in over twenty World Championship events. In her professional athletic career Lucy was a versatile competitor, and achieved success over a range of events from 5000m on the track to the Ironman distance in triathlon. Lucy’s coaching resume is equally impressive and for the past few years, she’s worked as Triathlon Canada’s Manager of Coach and Athlete Development.

These clinics will take place on Friday, November 4th at the U of M Max Bell Fieldhouse. There will be two sessions available, so you can choose either a 6:00pm or 7:30pm start time, with each 90-minute session designed for adult runners from beginner to experienced – if you can run 5k, you’re ready for this clinic!
Attendees should bring run clothes, shoes, water bottle and towel.
Cost for the clinic is $10, or $15 if you want to include Sunday’s session too. Space is limited, and will be first come first served, so register today and don’t miss out.
