March 31, 2023 marked the end of Triathlon Manitoba’s fiscal year, which perfectly aligns with our Board of Directors bi-annual update!
Last season was our first full year back with in-person programming and racing after the pandemic and we would like to extend a heartfelt thank-you to everyone who played an integral part in this rebuild year – Triathletes, Clubs, Event Organizers, Volunteers, Supporters, Sponsors, Event Host Parks and last but NOT least our amazing Triathlon MB staff, especially our Executive Director Jared Spier! We have been through a lot and Jared has done a stellar job leading us through it all. Without his efforts I am not sure where triathletes in Manitoba and our community would be today!
Our sport has many far reaching impacts, including a culture of fitness, an avenue to support diversity and inclusivity, promotion of community relations, healthy socialization, and importantly a pathway to compete on both a recreational and professional level, so it is important to the Board of Directors that we ensure there is a strong foundation to support and boost this.
2023-2024 is shaping up to be a strong year to fuel our sport and participation opportunities are plentiful!
