The imposed pause or slow down to most sports during the pandemic has left many, including Triathlon, in a state of needing to pick back up to reinvigorate all elements of our sport.
Triathlon Manitoba is happy to report that over these unprecedented times, 2020 to current, the pause to much of our programming resulted in a significant decrease to spending alongside government supports, leaving us in a strong financial position as we make our way back.
Ending the 2019-2020 Triathlon year, we had grown annual membership to 765, held 7 Triathlons, 5 Duathlons, and 6 Kids of Steel events throughout the province. With our inability to host live events these past summers and limited Club training, membership has declined.
Moving forward in 2022, Triathlon Manitoba and the Board of Directors are focused on coming back better! The following showcases our areas of focus.
We plan to make this communication semi-annually, with our next update post race season!
Should you know someone keen to get involved in Triathlon in any capacity there are lots of opportunities, so please share what you know, point them in the direction of the Triathlon Manitoba website or one of our Sanctioned Clubs if they need further information or have questions.
Thank you all for being such tremendous ambassadors of our sport and making this the best sport community. Can’t wait to see many of you this summer at live events! Now let’s build our sport back up to 2019 membership numbers.
Any questions, please reach out to us by email.
