Bringing You, the Hecla Triathlon Detour – Arborg Edition!
Due to road work in Hecla, with the movement of a ~1km section of the road, we’re excited to announce that this year’s triathlon will take a scenic detour to Arborg, MB. Get ready for an unforgettable race experience in this charming location!
Swim: Dive into the Access Aquatic Centre for a timed lap swim. No wetsuits needed, no sun glare, and no open water waves to worry about. It’s going to be a smooth and seamless start to your race!
Bike: Hit the highway, which is in phenomenal shape, for a fast out-and-back ride. The quiet highway, with smooth pavement, will help you achieve a very fast bike split!
Run: Enjoy a picturesque run along the Icelandic River. The beautiful scenery will keep you motivated and energized throughout the course.

This year’s Long Course Triathlon will be the Provincial Championship as well as a World Qualifier event, where the top age group female and male athletes can make their way onto the Canadian Age Group World Championship Team, for the 2026 World Triathlon Multisport Championship, held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
To be eligible for World Championship Qualification in the Long Course Triathlon, Long Course Aquabike, or Standard Duathlon, you must hold a Triathlon Manitoba Annual Membership and complete an Expression of Interest PRIOR to the event on July 26th.
