Beat the Cold Winter Triathlon **Postponed**
Due to the Extreme Cold Warning, the Beat the Cold Winter Triathlon will not be going ahead tomorrow, but will instead be held on it’s alternate date – Sunday, February 17th.
With an overnight low of -31c and windchill well below that, the health and safety of racers and volunteers needs to take top priority. We hope to see everyone out on the 17th, but there are more details in the post below for those unable to attend.
And the really good news is that because of this event’s success, 25 more Winnipeggers will have a safe, warm place to sleep tonight and Beat the Cold.
Beat the Cold is a new event offering the chance to get outside and test yourself against Winnipeg’s winter conditions.
Whether you take on the challenge solo or with a team as a relay, competitors will enjoy Running, Cycling and Skating from The Forks, in the centre of Winnipeg. The event also serves as a fundraiser for 1JustCity – helping to ensure that Winnipeg’s homeless are able to find a warm place to sleep on the coldest nights. Further event and fundraising details are available via the registration link below.
