Beat The Cold Winter Triathlon

February 4, 2023 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm
The Forks, Winnipeg, Forks Market Rd
Winnipeg, MB R3C 4S8 Canada

The Event

For the last four years, the wildest Winnipeggers have beaten the cold so others don’t have to. This year, there are two options to feed your need for frosty fun: race in person, or create your own virtual race.

The In-Person Race – February 4, 2023

The in-person race is back and everyone involved is excited to welcome you back to The Forks this season.  The race will include a 5 kilometre run, bike and skate. Join us in all your layers, with all your friends, and help raise funds for 1JustCity and their emergency overnight shelter, Just a Warm Sleep.

The Virtual Race – January 20 to February 3, 2023

For our virtual race, you can create your own course with your choice of sports and location, or you can race our original triathlon by running, skating, and biking for a minimum of 5km each.

If you choose to Challenge Your Course, choose at least two winter sports you love. You can skate, ski, snowshoe, toboggan, or even roll a snowball uphill. It’s up to you, so get creative with it! Just make sure your race has three distinct legs. There’s no minimum distance!

The Cause

100% of the Beat The Cold profits will go toward Just a Warm Sleep, 1JustCity’s overnight emergency warming centre in our newly-renovated Oak Table space.

Every night from December through March, Just a Warm Sleep invites up to 30 people experiencing homelessness into its outreach site at 107 Pulford Street to get a safe, warm sleep.  To find other ways you can contribute to this program, contact
